Why was the project important?

Nature Glenelg Trust recognises the importance of educating our community about our local environment and animal species that call the Limestone Coast home.

The series of workshops and field trips explored the biology of insects and understanding the intricate relationship some insects have with each other, as well as the important role they play in the ecosystem.

The workshops create citizen scientists, to help gather information around these fascinating creatures!

How did the Grassroots Grant help?

With the support of the Limestone Coast Grassroots Grants these workshops were open to the wider community. Without this funding these workshops would not have happened at the scale they did. We could hire buses for field trips and participants were able to travel together to various locations and interact and build relationships while discussing the world of insects.
